Following her victory against Mikaela Mayer in ten rounds by split decision, Alycia Baumgardner (13-1, 7KOs) established herself as the best fighter in the junior lightweight division. This fight takes place more than three days after that event. Baumgardner successfully defended her WBC crown for the second time and won the lineal, IBF, and WBO belts in her unification bout with the previously unbeaten Mayer (17-1, 5KOs), which took place on October 15 at The O2 in London.
